THIS IS WAR

This is War as well as Kings and Queens are two singles that I have been repeatidly listening to! They are both intense and crazy songs, which I love! 30 Seconds to Mars was formed in Las Angeles, California and includes actor, guitarist, songwriter and lead singer, Jared Leto. Shannon Leto on drums and Tomo Milicevic on lead guitar and keyboards. Three albums have been released; 30 Seconds to Mars, A Beautiful Lie, and This is War(featuring song Kings and Queens).

MikesChair is signed with Curb Reccords and is an American Contemporary Christian band. They formed at Belmont University in Mike Grayson’s dorm room. In 2007 they recorded soundtracks, with the band Plumb, for the movie Evan Almighty. It was Spirit in The Sky.

Keane is actually Piano Rock and formed in 1995. The group consists of composer, bassist, and pianist Tim Rice-Oxley, lead vocalist Tom Chaplin and drummer Richard Hughes. “Somewhere Only We Know” became number three on the UK Singles Chart in 2004. In late October 2006, Rice-Oxley collaborated with Gwen Stefani as a co-writer of the song “Early Winter”, released later in 2007, and “The Sweet Escape, as well as two more tracks.

Lady Antebellum is a Country band, formed in 2006 in Nashville, Tennessee. Their first number one song, “Need You Now” came out in 2009 and became the Top New Duo or Group by the Academy of Country Music. They were nominted for two awards at the 51st Grammy Awards and two more at the 52nd Grammy Awards. With their nominations, they took home the award for Best Country Performance by Duo or Group with Vocals for “I Run to You.”

Human (The Killers)

Human-

The Killers have been around for a while, I am a big fan of their music and here is one of my favorites (Human). I have posted earlier on in this blog, with the song When You Were Young. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Brandon Flowers said that he was irritated over the confusion about the lyrics, “Are we human or are we (Dancer)” and also that fans were unhappy with the song’s dance beat: “It’s supposed to be a dance song, (the beat) goes with the chorus…If you can’t put that together, you’re an idiot. I just don’t get why there’s a confusion about it.”

Had Enough-

Breaking Benjamin is a band I discovered a few years ago and the first song I heard of their’s was Forget It, another popular song. This band is from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and includes Benjamin Burnley, Aaron Fink, Mark Klepaski, and Chad Szeliga.

Formed in 1998, the band came up with their name from an incident when Burnley was singing a Nirvana song during an open mic night. He kicked the microphone stand over, breaking it. The person who owned the microphone walked onto the stage and said, “I’d like to thank Benjamin for breaking my fucking microphone.” In 1999 the band changed its name to “Plan 9″ then in late 2001, after many changes, the band changedback to their previous name “Breaking Benjamin” According to the band, the Breaking Benjamin logo is a variation of the Celtic knot, with four interlocking “B”s.
